Magazine Design

LSC 332: Print and Electronic Media Design

I created a 5-page spread for a fictional book magazine called “Between The Covers”. We were allowed to pick any topic we wanted to make the magazine about and reading is one of my favorite hobbies so I decided to make it the focus of my magazine. The class I created this project for was LSC 332: Print and Electronic Media Design. This course teaches the fundamentals of digital design and visuals through hands-on learning. I learned how to use Adobe software including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Along with this project, I created many other pieces of design including an ad, a personal brand, and a fictional business. This project was the final assignment for the course. The goal was to showcase your skills and share everything that you've learned over the course of the semester. We needed to use all 3 Adobe programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and the requirements included a magazine cover, table of contents, 2 double page spreads, and a back-page ad. The project took about a month to complete.

Strategic Communication Campaign

J651: Communicating Sports Controversies

For this project, my group and I created a strategic communication campaign called "Play Your Own Game" which empowered student athletes to prioritize their mental health especially with the recent changes in NIL. Throughout the semester, we talked a lot about issues in sports and NIL was one that we really dove into. Every group in the class was tasked with creating a strategic communication campaign, a podcast/short story, and a final presentation taking the perspective of someone who is affected by the changes in NIL. The class we created this campaign for was J651: Communicating Sports Controversies. We discussed the social impacts and issues within the sports world. We worked on this project the whole semester through mini assignments and then ultimately put it all together through this campaign report.

Duluth Huskies Social Posts

@duluthhuskies

I was a Marketing and Community Relations for the Duluth Huskies 2024 season. I had numerous responsibilities with a big one being posting on Instagram. I posted gameday graphics, starting lineups, final scores, promotions days, and in-game content. From May to August, I helped increase followers by 14.8% and reached over 65,373 accounts which is a 43.4% increase from the previous year. I also gained experience managing other social platforms including X, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn. Here are some examples of the work I created over the summer.
